Egypt is one of the four ancient civilizations like China. July 23, Egypt celebrated its National Pavilion Day at Shanghai World Expo. The 26-member Junior Journalist Delegation of Home and Abroad News Press got a letter of invitation each person, and were invited to attend the Egypt National Day celebration.
上海世博会中国政府副总代表赵振宇在活动中说：“埃及是最早与新中国建交的阿拉伯和非洲国家，也是最早与中国建立战略合作关系的发展中国家之一。建交以来，两国关系发展顺利，在政治、经济和文化等各领域取得了丰硕成果。”
Zhenyu Zhao, China's deputy commissioner general for World Expo 2010, said that Egypt was the first country in Africa to establish diplomatic relations with China and was one of the developing countries to establish strategic partnership with China.
赵振宇说，上海世博会为中埃战略合作提供了一次新的宝贵机遇，本届世博会将进一步推动两国人文交流，增进两国人民友谊。
Zhenyu Zhao said, Shanghai World Expo provided a new valuable opportunity for the Sino-Egypt strategic cooperation. The Expo will promote a further relationship and the exchange of cultural between two countries.
埃及驻华大使艾哈迈德•里兹克说，23日适逢埃及国庆日，能够在上海世博会庆祝这一重大节日意义特殊。他说，上海世博会首次在发展中国家举办，凸现中国作为世界经济引擎之一的重要地位。 “上海世博会为世界提供了平台，各国得以在此展示各自的文化艺术和经济科技发展成就。”里兹克说：“埃及馆紧扣世博会主题，不仅展示埃及丰富的历史文化遗产，还介绍了埃及作为新兴经济体的最新发展成就，以及在城市规划和管理方面做出的努力。”
Ahmed Rezk, Egyptian ambassador to China, said July 23 was the Egypt National Day. It has special significance to celebrate this great festival at Shanghai Expo. He said, this was the first time that developing country hosted Expo, highlighting the important role of China as an economic engine of the world. Shanghai World Expo provided a platform for countries to display their culture in the arts and economic development achievements. Egypt Pavilion was in line with the theme of Shanghai Expo, not only to show the historical and cultural heritage of Egypt, also to introduce Egypt Latest emerging economies achievements, as well as efforts on urban planning and management.
里兹克强调，埃及馆陈列了八件珍贵文物，这些文物也是首次在埃及境外展出，反映了埃中两国的密切关系。
Rezk stressed, Egypt unveiled eight national treasures at the Shanghai Expo. These relics were on display outside Egypt at first time, to reflect the close relationship between the two countries.
上海世博会埃及馆主题为“开罗，世界之母”。展馆外观以黑白两色为主色调，现代感十足。馆内以丰富的实物展品、影片和图片等呈现埃及悠久的历史和璀璨的文明，探讨如何通过借鉴历史应对当今和未来的挑战。其中，黄金法老面具“法老舍松契二世面具”等埃及八件国宝成为一大亮点。
The theme of Egypt Pavilion is "Cairo, Mother of the World”. The exterior of the pavilion adopts mainly two colors of black and white and boasts a modern look. Exhibited items include material objects, films and pictures showing Egypt's long history and rich culture. The pavilion explores how to face the challenges of the present and future based on experiences of the past. Among the highlights at the Egypt Pavilion are its eight national treasures, such as the gold mask of Sheshonq II.
