Pakistan is considered as the “iron brother” to China. The two countries have maintained a good relationship. "Witness Friendship" 2017 Summer Home & Abroad News Press Junior Journalist Delegation came to the Pakistani embassy in China and met with the Pakistani Ambassador to China H.E. Mr. Masood Khalid on August 2nd.
巴基斯坦驻华使馆政治参赞拉赫•塔里克主持采访活动，他首先向小记者介绍巴基斯坦情况，他高度的评价了中巴两国关系，他说，这种关系是“全天候”的，两国的友谊要靠青少年继承和发扬。
The First Secretary of Pakistani Embassy Mr. Raheel Tariq hosted the interview event. Firstly, he made a brief introduction about Pakistan to all audience. He spoke highly of the relations between China and Pakistan. He said that the relationship is “all-weather”, and the friendly relations will be carried forward and promoted through the younger generations of the two countries.
巴基斯坦驻华大使马苏德•哈立德阁下邀请中外新闻社总裁韦燕上台发言。韦燕说，中外新闻社是第四次组织小记者团来巴基斯坦大使馆采访，每一次都感受到中国同巴基斯坦浓浓的“铁哥们”气氛。2015年4月20日，中国国家主席习近平对巴基斯坦正式访问，“中巴经济走廊”就铭记在两国人民心中，我们期待着两国青少年有更多的交流，让中巴友好传统代代相传。
Invited by the Pakistani Ambassador to China H.E. Mr. Masood Khalid, the President of Home and Abroad News Press Mrs. Wei Yan delivered a speech on the stage. She said that this is the fourth time Home and Abroad News Press taking the junior journalist delegation to the Pakistani embassy. Every time when we come here, we deeply feel the atmospheres of “Iron Brother” between China and Pakistan. On April 20, 2015, Chinese President Xi Jinping paid an official visit to Pakistan and launched the “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor”. We hope that more exchanges will be made between the youth of the two countries so that the friendly tradition of China and Pakistan will be carried on from generation to generation.
马苏德•哈立德大使也在会上对前来参加采访的小记者寄予厚望，他说，今天能在巴基斯坦大使馆看到中国这么多的小记者感到很亲切，中巴友谊源远流长，是好邻居、好朋友、好兄弟、好伙伴。哈立德大使简要介绍了中巴建交66年来的友好往来，指出两国在经济、教育、文化等方面都保持着良好的合作，中巴友谊“比山高、比海深、比蜜甜、比铁硬”。马苏德•哈立德表示希望通过小记者的采访活动，让两国的青少年人对双方文化有进一步的认识，更加深刻地理解中巴友谊，让这份情谊能够世代传承。
Ambassador Massoud Khalid also expressed high hopes for the junior journalists who came to the interview here today. He said that it is nice to see so many junior journalists in the Pakistani embassy today. The friendship between China and Pakistan has a long history, and we are good neighbors, good friends, good brothers and good partners. Ambassador Khalid briefly introduced the friendly exchanges between China and Pakistan over the past 66 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties. He pointed out that the two countries have maintained good cooperation in economy, education, culture and other fields. China-Pakistan friendship is “higher than the mountains, deeper than the ocean, as hard as the iron”. Ambassador Khalid said that through the interview with the junior journalists, the young people in both countries should develop a deeper understanding about each other’s cultures and the precious friendship between China and Pakistan. This connection will allow the friendship to be passed on from generation to generation.
在小记者采访环节，小记者问：“你好大使先生！提到巴基斯坦，我们首先想到的是“铁哥们”。巴基斯坦是中国最铁的 “哥们”，你担任大使职位以来，到过很多中国城市，谈到文化交流与教育是连接两国青年一代的重要桥梁。表示双方要扩大文化、教育、科技、青年等领域交流与合作。你认为：我们青少年应该如何传承中巴两国的友谊？
During the interview, a junior journalist asked: “Hello, Mr. Ambassador. Thank you very much for giving us this interview opportunity with you. Speaking about Pakistan, all Chinese people will quickly realize that Pakistan is a real brother of China. Since you became the Ambassador to China, you have been to many Chinese cities and promote cultural exchange and educational cooperation between China and Pakistan. Both countries are willing to extend the communication and cooperation in various fields, including culture, education, technology and youth exchange. In your opinions, how will we continue developing the traditional friendship between China and Pakistan?”
马苏德•哈立德大使说，青少年是两国的未来和希望，中巴两国青少年应多了解历史，了解邻国，学好英语多交流，放眼未来，努力成为推动中巴关系发展的重要力量。
Ambassador Masood Khalid said that the youth is the future and hope of both countries. Chinese and Pakistani young people should learn more about history from their past, learn from their neighbors, learn English for brighter future. The young people should aim to become an important group for promoting the development of China-Pakistan’s relations.
“你好大使先生！你1980进入巴基斯坦外交部工作，2005年至2007年任巴基斯坦驻韩国大使。2013年出任巴基斯坦驻华大使。你的外交履历令人羡慕。您是为传承中巴两国宝贵友谊而来，你将如何为未来中巴关系健康发展贡献自己的智慧和力量？”小记者问。
“Hello, Mr. Ambassador, you have worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan in 1980. You were the Ambassador to South Korea between 2005 and 2007, and then became the Ambassador to China in 2013. Your diplomatic experience is truly impressive. You came to China for carrying on the traditional friendship between the two countries, how will you contribute your wisdom and efforts to further strengthen China and Pakistan’s relationship in the future?” another junior journalist asked.
马苏德•哈立德大使表示，我把和平与发展作为我们共同的外交发展策略，中巴关系已经不再是一个新的关系，中巴关系是非常古老的并且具有传统意义的关系，经过这么多年，中巴关系在不断的增长，对于中巴我对这个关系看得非常重要，而且在以后，我认为将有更多的发展，我们将把中巴关系以后做得更大更强。
Ambassador Masood Khalid answered that I always made the peaceful development idea to be our common diplomatic development strategy. The relationship between China and Pakistan is not new. China and Pakistan’s friendship is long-history with many traditional meanings. After many years, the relations between China and Pakistan has been continuously growing. I highly value this relationship. In the future, I will further develop this relationship so that the China and Pakistan’s friendship could be stronger and everlasting.
小记者采访结束时向大使阁下赠送了自己的小礼物。哈立德大使在大使官邸为小记者准备午餐，在共进午餐环节中，大使及各外交官和小记者们谈笑风生，一时间，中巴友好的气氛在小记者心里留下了深刻地印象。
At the end of the interview, the junior journalists presented their gifts to the ambassador. Ambassador Khalid also prepared luncheon for all delegation members at the ambassador's residence. During the luncheon, the ambassador and Pakistani diplomats shared such good time with junior journalists with joy and laugh. The friendly atmosphere between China and Pakistan left a deep impression on all junior journalists.
