Romania is one of the first nations which established diplomatic relations with China. Romanian Ambassador Mr. Doru Romulus Costea have mentioned numerous times during our interview that "Romania always views China as a good friend and a valuable partner".
China and Romania established the diplomatic relations on October 5th 1949. In the past 64 years, China and Romania maintained close partnership, especially in politics, economy, culture, education and other sectors. The collaborations between the two countries are known as the role model for many other countries. In the year 2011, trade between the two countries has reached a new record of 4.06 billion US Dollars. Romania is an old and good friend to Chinese people. As the ambassador to China, how will you promote the bilateral relationship into a higher level for China and Romania?
Mr. Costea said that one important new area for economic collaboration is through the investment and management in renewable resources, electricity and fundamental infrastructures. Both countries can establish sound cooperation in the high technology sector and communications sector as well.
The Romanian Ambassador hopes to reopen the direct route between the capital of Romania and Beijing. He focused on introducing the various types of tours and scenic places to visit in Romania. In particular, one can admire over the special church architectures in the north-eastern part; churches and castles built in various timeframes in the middle part of Romania. Moreover, one can experience Romania through a health rejuvenation tour; a self managed country tour; vineyard tours where the winery history dates back 500 years earlier; as well as ski resorts and sports tours.
The Romanian Ambassy has an open day on one Saturday of the month of May, Mr. Costea invites the people of Beijing to come and experience the rich Romanian culture; to enjoy the tasty Romanian wine and food; to feel the Romanian music and experience their culture.
Mr. Costea arrived in China on January of 2012 as the Ambassador to China. And the high speed development of the Chinese economy and the constantly changing modern city constructions left a deep impression to him. He said that, "I discover new things about the way the Chinese people think and live during my spare time every day. I also learn about how China was able to embrace high level of modern infrastructures so quickly and so successfully." He showed great interest in the rich 5000 years of Chinese history and the great level of intelligence and spirit demonstrated by the Chinese people. He was very happy to be interviewed and at the same time devoted much attention to our interview.
