The relation between China and Turkey has been developing continuously. Especially in October 2010, Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao paid a visit to Turkey. Hemet with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and attended a signing ceremony of pacts to improve bilateral cooperation. At present, what will China and Turkey do, to seize the historical opportunity and enhance mutually beneficial cooperation? At the beginning of the New Year, we interviewed with Turkish Ambassador to China, Mr. Murat Salim Esenli.
记者：您好大使先生，世界上最重要的贸易通道——“丝绸之路”将亚欧大陆紧紧相连，“丝路”两端的中国与土耳其也因此建立起了紧密的交往，在两国领导人的直接关怀和指导下，中土关系稳步发展，政治互信不断增强，经贸合作速度增长。作为土耳其的驻华大使，您为两国的关系发展作出了杰出的贡献。请您谈谈土耳其和中国的关系。
Journalist: Mr. Ambassador. As one of the world's most important trade routes, the "Silk Road" connected Asia and Europe closely. China and Turkey also developed a tight relationship. Under the direct guidance of the top leaders of the two nations, relations between China and Turkey has been steadily developing, political trust has been significantly enhancing, economic cooperation has been speeding up. As Turkish Ambassador to China, you have made great contribution to the development of relations between two counties. Please share your comments on present relation between Turkey and China.

中国古代的“丝绸之路”是很重要贸易往来渠道，“丝绸之路”可以追溯到公元前329年，多年来，土中两国一直保持着密切的友好往来，中国很多古代瓷器现今保存在伊斯坦布尔的托布卡普宫博物馆。2009年土耳其总统阿卜杜拉•居尔访问了中国，这是土耳其总统14年第一次访问中国，在2010年10月中国温家宝总理8年后第一次访问土耳其，此外还有很多高层互访，土耳其总理埃尔多安同中国温家宝总理会见时，他们提出要将中土关系发展到战略合作关系的高度。
The ancient “Silk Road” is a very important international trade route dating back to 329 BC. Turkey and China has been keeping friendly and close relations for many years. At present lots of ancient Chinese Porcelains are preserved in the Topkapi Palace Museum, Istanbul. For the first time in 14 years, President of Turkey Abdullah Gul paid a visit to China in 2009. Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao also paid a visit to Turkey in October 2010 and it had been 8 years since the last time he visited Turkey. In addition to that there are also many high-level visits between the two counties. Last time Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao, they made an agreement to lift the strategic cooperation between Turkey and China to a new height.

Journalist: Turkey is a member of G-20, a big developing country, a powerful Islamic state and a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Located between the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea, Turkey has special geographical position. Please tell us about the tourism in Turkey.
大使：土耳其是一个美丽的国家，爱琴海和地中海沿岸碧绿的水域、卡帕多奇亚(Cappadocia)由火山熔岩形成的仙境般的地貌、黑海山脉的野花和云雾缭绕的森林，东部崎岖不平草原独特的景致让人流连忘返。2010年土耳其吸引了2800万的世界各地游客，中国游客可以很方便的领到签证。
Ambassador: Turkey is a beautiful country: turquoise waters of Aegean and Mediterranean coasts, wonderful volcanic landscape of Cappadocia, wild flowers and cloud forests of the Black Sea mountain ranges, rugged and attractive scenery of the Eastern Steppes. Turkey drew 28 million tourists from all over the world in 2010. It is very easy for Chinese people t o get a Turkish tourist visa.
记者：目前土耳其与中国的文化项目合作有哪些？中国企业家选择土耳其投资发展有哪些优势？
Journalist: Could you please introduce more about the cultural cooperation projects between Turkey and China? For Chinese entrepreneurs, what are the key advantages of investing in Turkey?
大使：2011年是中土两国建交40周年。土耳其驻华使馆及驻华各领事馆都在积极的宣传土耳其文化，中国驻土耳其使馆也在积极地宣传中国文化， 2012年是土耳其中国文化年，2013年是中国土耳其文化年。中土两国的文化交流还包括两国的电影文化的交流，文化、艺术作品展，中土两国历史文化的研讨会等。
Ambassador：2011 marks the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Turkey. Turkish Embassy and Consulates in China have been making great effort to introduce Turkish culture to Chinese, and Chinese Embassy in Turkey also has been promoting Chinese culture actively. The year 2012 will be celebrated in Turkey as "the Year of China", and the year 2013 will be celebrated in China as "the Year of Turkey". Cultural communication between China and Turkey includes exchange of cinematic culture, culture & arts exhibitions as well as seminar on Turkish and Chinese history and culture, etc.
土耳其对外投资政策是非常开明的，外商到土耳其去投资旅游、基础建设、能源等方面，将同当地企业所受的待遇是一样的，办理投资的手续实行“一站式”手续，非常简便。土耳其很重视中国企业到土耳其去投资，中国企业在土耳其不仅能得到正常的优惠政策，还可以将土耳其作为通往欧洲的大门，在土耳其建厂生产产品，在销往欧洲，这样的商品是没有进出口税的。
Turkey has maintained an open foreign investment policy. Foreign investors could receive enjoy equal treatment as local enterprises and enjoy convenient one-stop service when going through investment procedures. Turkey attaches great importance to investment of Chinese enterprise. Chinese enterprise could not only enjoy ordinary preferential policies in Turkey, but also could utilize Turkey as an entrance to Europe - build factories in Turkey and sell the products from Turkey to Europe will be duty-free for export and import.
