Mexico is the third largest country in Latin America and the 14th largest in the world, located in the southern part of North America and the northwestern tip of Latin America. Through the hardships and challenges, the relationship between China and Mexico has become more and more solid, and cooperation in many fields has achieved fruitful results, deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership and forging an unbreakable friendship.

Ambassador Seade introduced the country of Mexico to the junior journalists, he said, this year coincides with the 51st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico. In the past 51 years, China and Mexico made rapid development in all aspects through mutual understanding and mutual appreciation about each other’s culture and history. This relationship has been the close bond to connect the two countries for centuries in history.
施雅德表示, 他曾去过很多国家, 但是他从未发现像中国一样与墨西哥如此相似的国家。中国与墨西哥在文化、饮食等方面都有很多共同之处。
Ambassador Seade said he has traveled to many countries, but he has never found a country as similar to Mexico as China. China and Mexico share many things in common in culture, food and other aspects.
有小记者问：“您是一位资深的外交官, 曾参与世界贸易组织(WTO)筹建, 并担任WTO负责经济和发展问题的副总干事.2023年4月24日, 您向中国国家主席习近平递交国书, 正式成为墨西哥合众国驻华大使。作为墨西哥合众国驻华大使, 你认为：两国青少年, 将如何接过“接力棒”、传承中墨宝贵的友谊？谢谢!”
A junior journalist asked: “You are a senior diplomat who participated in the establishment of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and served as its Deputy Director General for Economic and Development Issues. On April 24, 2023, you officially became Ambassador of the United Mexican States to China. As the Ambassador, in your opinions: how will the youth of the two countries continue this precious friendship between China and Mexico? Thank you!”
施雅德大使回答, 在历史长河中, 有很多的国家希望同中国建立友好关系, 分享中国的高科技, 墨西哥也不例外。目前, 有很多中国学生在墨西哥留学和学习英文, 墨西哥的学生也有在中国留学, 两国学生应该多多交流, 互相了解对方的文化, 关注对方国的重要事件, 共同推动墨西哥同中国友好关系的发展。
Ambassador Seade replied, in the long history, there are a lot of countries want to establish friendly relations with China, share China's high technology, Mexico is no exception. At present, there are a lot of Chinese students studying in Mexico and learning English, Mexican students are also studying in China, the two countries should have more exchanges of students to understand each other's cultures, pay attention to each other's country's important events, and work together to promote the Mexico and China's friendly relations.
一名来自青岛的小记者问大使：“青岛西海岸新区两所学校与墨西哥中华人民共和国中学（原名为墨西哥第118中学）缔结友好合作关系, 双方积极推动中墨学校之间教育和人文交流, 通过“互联网＋人文交流”积极开展各项活动, 努力培养青少年国际视野。请问: 未来中国和墨西哥的教育合作还有哪些发展空间?谢谢!”
A junior journalist from Qingdao asked: “On September 23, 2022, two schools in Qingdao's West Coast New District and Mexico's People's Republic of China High School (formerly known as Mexico's No.118 High School) concluded a friendship and cooperation relationship, in which the two sides have actively promoted educational and humanistic exchanges between Chinese and Mexican schools to help young people to develop international perspectives. We would like to know what is the development potential in education cooperation between China and Mexico in the future? Thank you!”
施雅德大使说, 谢谢你的问题, 我有去过你们青岛, 青岛很美丽。我认为, 墨西哥同中国的教育合作应该从小抓起, 基础教育很重要, 在人文交流领域也要更多有所作为。国际教育合作与交流在某种程度上来说, 有助于增强互信, 墨西哥同中国教育合作对了解和吸收世界先进的科学技术和教育经验有着很大的空间。
Ambassador Seade replied that thank you for your question! I have been to Qingdao, and Qingdao is a very beautiful city. I believe that Mexico and China's educational cooperation should start from childhood, basic education is very important, and humanistic exchanges should also make more efforts. To some extent, international educational cooperation and exchanges can help enhance mutual trust, and educational cooperation between Mexico and China has great potentials for absorbing the world's advanced science and technology and educational experience.

The junior journalists were also concerned about tourism and studying in Mexico.
