On September 30, 2026, the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing held a press conference for the First China-Russia Rock Music Festival. The festival officially kicked off on October 3–4, 2026, at the Beijing Exhibition Center. It is jointly organized by the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing and the Beijing Exhibition Center, with support from the Russian Embassy in China.

The Russian music bands included the legendary alternative rock band “СЛОТ,” the popular 2000s indie rock band “МультFильмы,” Leos Herkrim, one of the pioneers of Russian music blogging, and his band “ФиенД,” as well as the bands GAUGA, 7000$, and GORODA; The Chinese music bands featured Yang Pinhua × Coordinate Axis and the Eerguna Band. The ZHEGA Band, composed of staff members from the Russian Embassy in China and their families, performed both the opening and closing acts.

He stated that this music festival provides an excellent opportunity for the distinctive rock music genres of Russia and China to learn from one another, helping to strengthen the friendship between the two peoples. He expressed his hope that the festival would become a cherished tradition, adding another highlight to the already rich and diverse agenda of bilateral cultural exchanges.
