Republic of Tunisia is the northernmost country in Africa.The country is the one of ancient civilization counties. In recent years, the relation between China and Tunisia has been developing rapidly. The number of exchanges in many fields is increasing. During the interview with the Ambassador of Tunisia to China, H.E. Mr. Tarek Amri, he expressed that Tunisia is willing to promote China and Tunisia’s bilateral relations into a higher level, broader sectors and more channels.
Mr. Tarek Amri became the Ambassador to China in April 2013. When entering the embassy building, we came into a small meeting room. Ambassador Amri told us that here is his residence and he lives and works here. Meeting us in his home made us feel like meeting old friends.

"Dear Ambassador, how do you evaluate the future relations between Tunisia and China?" we asked.
"Although China and Tunisia are far from each other in geographic distance, two countries and their people are actually very close to each other. Tunisian students could learn Chinese culture and Chinese medicine in Tunisian universities. I also believe that there will be great potentials and opportunities from the cooperation with China. I have strong confidence in the bilateral relationship between China and Tunisia." Mr. Tarek Amri answered.
"Mr. Ambassador. What kinds of exchanges, opportunities and programs will the new Chinese Culture Centre in Tunisia offer to both Chinese and Tunisian students?"
"Opening the Chinese Culture Centre in Tunisia will provide an excellent channel for African, Arab and Mediterranean people to learn more about China and its culture. China could directly send experts to Tunisia to give lectures or run different programs so that more Tunisian people could learn from the advanced Chinese experiences in many convenient ways. Especially, the youths of both countries will also receive more valuable and quick information through cultural exchanges" Mr. Ambassador answered.
Ambassador Tarek Amri also pleasantly introduced Tunisian culture, education, tourism and religion to them. At the end, he said that Tunisia is a small country, in order to have more opportunities for better living, the Tunisia citizens must capable of speaking three different languages as languages are an important key to the whole world. By learning different languages, Tunisia people may know more about different technologies and cultures from other countries. Therefore, learning different languages is very necessary.
During the interview with Ambassador Tarek Amri, he also mentioned that he will focus his work on pushing forward the economic and trade cooperation with China, the mutual investment will be the first priority. He praised China's strong support to Tunisia at all levels and hoped develop the existing bilateral relationship to a strategic partner relationship.
