In the evening of March 23rd, 2010, Pakistan National Day Reception hosted by Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was held in Beijing Grand Millennium Hotel. More than 500 guests, including Chinese Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Hu Zhengyue, numerous foreign ambassadors to China, and friends from academic and business circles, attended the event. Journalists of Home and Abroad News and Press were invited to participate.
巴驻华大使马苏德•汗用流利的中文致辞，他说：今年是巴基斯坦和中国建交60周年。巴中双方将采取更加紧密和合作推动双边关系迈向一个新的高度，尤其是在经贸合作和人才交流等领域。
Pakistani Ambassador to China Masood Khan delivered an address in fluent Chinese. He said: “This year marks the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. Two countries will develop close cooperation to lift the bilateral relations to a new height, especially in areas of economic & trade cooperation and talent exchange.
大使说，感谢中方去年在巴基斯坦遭遇洪水灾难时，中国政府、解放军、中国企业等为他们及时提供了大量物资的支援，无条件地帮助数千名巴基斯坦难民。感谢中国政府参与巴基斯坦灾后重建工作。特别感谢中国地震专家和武警总医院赴巴基斯坦的救援队为灾民提供的医疗援助。
“We appreciate the help China offered last year when flood disaster hit Pakistan. Chinese government, liberation army and Chinese enterprises provided huge amounts of relief supplies and offered help to thousands of victims in Pakistan unconditionally. Thank Chinese government for supporting Pakistan’s post-disaster reconstruction. I will also give my special thanks to Chinese seismic experts and rescue team from General Hospital of Armed Police Forces”, said the ambassador.

“In December 2010, Chinese Prime Minister Wen jiabao delivered a speech about the friendship between China and Pakistan during his visit to Pakistan. He said: ‘Adversity reveals fortitude and uprightness, time reveals all things. China and Pakistan are unconditional strategic partners and close brothers. The friendship between China and Pakistan will last forever’!”

Ambassador Masood Khan bestowed the President's Award to Major General Cai Bingkui, the former defense attache to Pakistan and vice chairman of the China Institute for International Strategic, and the Contribution Award to Professor Qin Dahe, the former Administrator of China Meteorological Administration, for their contribution to the peaceful and friendly relations between China and Pakistan.
